A Working-Class Life, Restarted More Times Than I Can Count

I didn’t write the Working Class Manifesto to become an author.
I wrote it because I watched the world shift under my kids’ feet and realized nobody was giving them a map.I’ve worked in almost every corner of the working-class universe — construction, welding, manufacturing, retail, design, contracting, hospitality, tech. Not because I was lost, but because the world kept changing faster than the promises we were raised with.The old script — “Go to school, get a job, work hard, and you’ll be set” — simply doesn’t work anymore.I learned that the hard way.

The Truth: I Didn’t “Make It.” I Survived It.

I’ve been broke.
I’ve been laid off.
I’ve had bosses take credit for my work.
I’ve had jobs with no ladder and industries with no map.
I’ve started over more times than I can remember.At 54, after a divorce and a financial collapse that wiped me out completely, I found myself living in my parents’ attic — with nothing but debt, two teenage kids I love, and the absolute clarity that something needed to change.Not just for me.
For them.
For everyone in the working class who feels like they’re drowning in a system they were never taught to navigate.

Why I Created the Working Class Manifesto

Because the truth is simple:No one teaches you how to build a career from the bottom.
No one teaches you how industries actually work.
No one teaches you how money works — or how to avoid debt traps.
No one teaches you how to rise without a degree, without connections, without luck.People tell you to “work hard.”
But working hard blindly just gets you tired.What we need is strategy.
Skills.
A map.
A path that’s honest, realistic, and brutally practical.That’s the purpose of this series.
It’s the book I needed at 16, at 26, at 36, at 46 — and yes, even at 54.

What I Believe

I believe the working class deserves better information.
I believe people can rebuild their lives at any age.
I believe financial independence is possible even without college.
I believe careers can be built from the bottom with intelligence, not hustle porn.
I believe our kids need REAL guidance — not fake gurus, not shortcuts, not bullshit.Most of all, I believe in second chances.
And third.
And fourth.Because I’m living one right now.
